If you have asked this question you are absolutely right in doing so! Why DO we need to know this stuff about sexual health? Why is a quiz like SHQ important?

How did SHQ begin?

Welcome to our පලවෙනි post on sexual health in Sri Lanka. We would like to start off by giving an introduction to this idea.

Back in 2010 a group of software engineers and a medical student from UniverSL Software, teamed up with Western Hospital with a common goal: to enlighten the Sri Lankan public about a subject which sounded taboo but had very real problems: sexual health.

For months we thought about this problem. How could we give useful information in an accessible way? The main problem we saw was of course the main reason this subject has not got its due: people don't like to ask someone and find out about it, but finally end up doing something they regret.

Finally we had a breakthrough: We teamed up with Etisalat Appzone to bring this important information to the one place people would learn and be comfortable with.... your mobile phone! All people would have to do was to type REG<space>SHQ and send it to 4499 on an Etisalat connection and they would instantly start learning! මේකට වැඩිය easy විදියක් නැහැ!

Things to know about SHQ

• Its a mobile subscription service which means you will practically learn every day!
• Activation is by typing REG<space>SHQ and sending it to 4499
• To learn all the features of SHQ you have to type SHQ<space>HELP and send it to 4499
